Join our International Outdoor business as Retail Marketing Manager

Nikwax is a leading international manufacturer of aftercare products and fabric systems for clothing, footwear and outdoor equipment and leads the field in outstanding environmental credentials and sustainability. In recognition of eco-friendly product innovation and sustainable business approach, Nikwax has received the Queen’s Award for Sustainable Development. We are looking for a Retail Marketing Manager to join our busy and friendly Marketing & Communications team.

The Role

Improve the engagement of retail staff and consumers with the Nikwax brand and products to educate them about our products, broadening and increasing sales by effective planning, development, distribution and management of retail marketing tools and materials, and lead their presentation at international trade shows by:

  • Planning, developing, delivering and distributing impactful in-store point of sale and activations to drive brand awareness and sales in liaison with the Head of Marketing, internal teams and design agency
  • Planning and delivering the presentation of marketing tools and materials and the calendar of trade and consumer shows both in UK and at two major international trade shows each year
  • Developing training packages for retail staff and manage their ongoing update to ensure ongoing effectiveness and relevance
  • Liaising with key distributor marketing managers to identify marketing support requirements and ensure marketing tools and materials are current and effective
  • Liaising with store merchandising managers to gain insight into their needs and changing retail patterns in order to inform the ongoing evolution of Nikwax's retail presentation; enabling piloting of new point of sale materials and optimisation any retail opportunities
  • Gathering, analysing and making recommendations from customers' and retailers’ reactions to in-store marketing initiatives on how to optimise retail presentation to meet business goals
  • Keeping informed of retailer, consumer and competitor trends; interpreting and using these insights to make suggestions that will drive ongoing improvement to our retail and event materials

The Person

  • An excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • A marketing or retail marketing professional with a strong understanding of the retail landscape
  • A strong project manager with exceptional organisational skills
  • Experienced of planning and delivering international trade shows or large trade and consumer events
  • Good at building strong relationships
  • Enthusiastic with an innovative, creative flair
  • An experienced researcher with good analytical skills
  • Willing to undertake some UK travel and a limited amount of international travel
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • An interest in the outdoors and outdoors activities would be an advantage

Join an international outdoor business as a Key Account Manager

The Role

Maintain and increase sales for key accounts, building relationships with buyers that promote the understanding of how our products and services can make their businesses more profitable.

  • Maintain and increase sales for key accounts, by building relationships with buyers
  • Promote the understanding of how our products and services can make buyers’ businesses more profitable
  • Work with key account merchandisers and our marketing team, to provide the best solutions for POS to optimise sales
  • Report to the Sales Manager with feedback on customers, competitors and general market activity
  • Co-ordinate the training and for all relevant Key account staff, making use of any internet based applications
  • Ensure that internal and external processes for all key accounts are communicated and specific requirements are discussed prior to agreement
  • Provide research on both new potential sales channels and new product opportunities
  • Plan and execute regular visits to relevant contacts with all key accounts

The Person

  • Will be personable and organised
  • Able to drive things to a conclusion
  • Be able to use own initiative to prioritise tasks
  • Understands the importance of customer service
  • Will have a logical and analytical approach to problem solving
  • Must have a full clean driving licence
  • Will have experience in sales and training
  • Have experience of the outdoor industry and related sports
  • Will be educated to A level standard or equivalent

Join an international outdoor business in a rural environment as a Filling and Packing Assistant

Nikwax is a leading international manufacturer of waterproofing products for clothing, footwear and outdoor equipment and leads the field in outstanding environmental credentials and sustainability. Most recently, Nikwax received the Queen’s Award for Sustainable Development.

The Role

To improve the return on investment in the Nikwax filling and packing team by

  • filling, labelling and packing our products
  • meeting the team’s busy production schedules and orders
  • being able to set up production equipment and machinery and reporting faults with machinery as they occur
  • keeping the working areas and equipment clean and tidy and adhering to safe working practises

The Person will be

  • a friendly and helpful team player
  • conscientious, with an eye for detail
  • ideally having some basic IT skills
  • experienced in working in a production environment, however this is not essential
